Operations, Technical & Logistics Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations, Technical & Logistics Manager to serve as the company's local representative in Guyana. This role is responsible for coordinating shore-based logistics, vessel support activities, crew administration, regulatory reporting, technical coordination, and operational support for marine and offshore operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient vessel operations, strong stakeholder relationships, regulatory compliance, and effective local support to offshore activities.
Key Responsibilities
Vessel Operations & Logistics
- Act as a primary point of contact between charterers, vessel masters, and shore-based stakeholders regarding operational matters.
- Coordinate logistics activities supporting vessel operations, including provisions, port calls, agency services, and vessel requirements.
- Arrange transportation between ports, airports, warehouses, offshore bases, and vessels.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and maintain a network of local suppliers, logistics providers, service companies, and agents.
- Support technical, crewing, and operational activities in coordination with company stakeholders.
Spare Parts, Customs & Freight Coordination
- Coordinate the import and export of vessel supplies, equipment, tools, and spare parts.
- Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, and government authorities.
- Ensure all customs documentation and clearance processes are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor and track shipments to maintain visibility of inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Provide logistics and customs support to vessel crews and operational teams.
Regulatory Compliance & Local Content
- Support compliance with local content and regulatory requirements.
- Collect, verify, and report information related to local employment, procurement, training initiatives, and stakeholder commitments.
- Maintain positive relationships with government agencies and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure operational compliance.
Crew Coordination
- Serve as the focal point between the company, recruitment partners, local service providers, and employees.
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization activities.
- Support onboarding, certification management, medical examinations, travel arrangements, and workforce administration.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with local labor requirements.
- Assist with workforce planning and staffing requirements.
Stakeholder Management & Local Representation
- Provide operational support to visiting personnel, contractors, vessel crews, and management teams.

- Act as a professional representative of the organization within Guyana.
- Support the continued growth and successful long-term establishment of local operations.
- Promote strong relationships with clients, authorities, and industry stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
- Relevant education within shipping, maritime operations, logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent industry experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
Experience
- Experience within the maritime, offshore, shipping, logistics, energy, or oil and gas sectors.
- Previous exposure to vessel operations, charter-party administration, or marine logistics.
- Experience engaging with government authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Proven ability to coordinate personnel, contractors, and third-party service providers.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations within Guyana.
- Sound knowledge of local administrative and regulatory processes.
- Established industry network and stakeholder relationships within Guyana are highly desirable.
- Good technical understanding of vessel operations and marine equipment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
