Job Title: OPS GEOLOGIST

Location: Mozambique
This opportunity offers a technically demanding position supporting geological operations within a deep offshore oil and gas environment. The role focuses on real-time monitoring, formation evaluation, geosteering, pore pressure awareness, and data acquisition planning, with direct impact on operational safety, well delivery, and cost performance. This company is seeking a geoscience professional able to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams in a complex offshore drilling setting.
Required Education:
- Master’s degree or equivalent level qualification.
Required Experience:
- At least 3–5 years of experience in operations geology.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a wellsite geologist.
- Deep offshore drilling experience, including HPHT, deviated, and horizontal complex wells.
- Experience supporting exploration, appraisal, and development wells.
Required Skills:
- Strong capability in well or pad planning and high-level real-time monitoring of drilling operations.
- Formation evaluation expertise, including interpretation skills and advanced geosteering capability.
- Understanding of pore pressure and geomechanics to identify stability risks and operational hazards.
- Robust planning of LWD, wireline, and sampling programmes.
- Technical oversight of service companies and effective supervision of geological operations offshore and from office locations.
- High-quality geological reporting and post-well analysis.
- Operational risk and uncertainty management in a deep offshore drilling environment.
- Digital systems competence, including Gravitas and COP Toolbox.
- Clear communication, analytical problem solving, stakeholder coordination, decisive judgement, and adaptability to changing drilling conditions.
- Fluent English language skills.
Required Certifications:
- Certification degree in the supervision of operations geology as per CR EP GLO 005 requirements (Required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- French language skills.
- Portuguese language skills.
