Position Overview

This Payroll Specialist I opportunity is suited to candidates with strong corporate payroll experience who can operate accurately in a deadline-driven environment. The Payroll Specialist I will support high-volume payroll activity, working across multi-state employee populations while maintaining a strong focus on audit, reconciliation, accuracy and service. Responsibilities

  • Support the processing of biweekly and monthly payrolls for a large employee population across multiple states.

  • Reconcile earnings, deductions and taxes, and complete payroll audit activity with a high level of accuracy.

  • Work with managers to support timely approval of worked time for non-exempt employees.

  • Process payroll input, on-demand payments and manual payments as required.

  • Complete payroll tax adjustments, company reclasses, W-2 corrections, and garnishment or tax levy set-ups as needed.

  • Run and review payroll-related audit activity, integrations, and election set-up checks.

  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

  • Assist with payroll check and pay slip distribution and support additional project work as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 years of corporate payroll processing experience.

  • General knowledge of payroll principles, including overtime and tax withholding calculations.

  • Strong Excel and Word skills.

  • Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and mathematical ability.

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and listening skills.

  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a team.

  • Ability to manage strict daily deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to work additional hours when required.

  • Willingness to work in the office during the training period and as needed.
