We are working with a client to source a PCC HVAC Superintendent. This is a contract role working on a residential basis. Please see details below.
Title: PCC HVAC Superintendent
Start Date: July 1, 2026
Location: Sohar, Oman
Working Schedule: 5 days per week / 10 hours per day or as per project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Pre Commissioning & Commissioning Execution
• Lead and supervise all HVAC pre commissioning and commissioning activities on site
• Review and validate HVAC commissioning procedures, method statements, and test packs
• Ensure readiness of HVAC systems for commissioning, including completion of mechanical checks, punch lists, and system cleanliness
• Coordinate functional testing, performance testing, and system balancing activities
• Oversee start up, testing, and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment and systems
Technical Scope
• HVAC systems including:
o DX and packaged units
o Air Handling Units (AHUs)
o Ventilation and exhaust systems
o Pressurization systems
o Ducting, dampers, controls, and instrumentation
• Ensure HVAC systems meet design intent, operational requirements, and applicable international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.)
• Interface with vendors and OEM representatives during testing and commissioning activities
Interface & Coordination
• Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Commissioning teams
• Liaise with engineering to resolve technical queries, NCRs, and site issues
• Support system walkdowns, punch clearing, and handover to operations/client teams
• Participate in commissioning meetings, progress reviews, and readiness assessments
HSE & Quality
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project HSE plans and procedures
• Promote safe working practices and participate in toolbox talks and risk assessments
• Ensure commissioning documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews as required
Reporting & Documentation
• Monitor and report commissioning progress against schedule
• Prepare daily / weekly activity reports
• Ensure commissioning dossiers and handover documentation are completed and approved
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
Experience
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in HVAC systems within oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, or large industrial projects
• Proven experience in pre commissioning and commissioning phases on major EPC projects
• Prior experience working on LNG facilities or complex energy infrastructure projects is highly preferred
• Strong site based commissioning background in multi disciplinary environments
Technical Competence
• In depth knowledge of HVAC system design, installation, and commissioning
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ISO, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, layouts, datasheets, and commissioning procedures
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills during system start up
