CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Petrophysical Evaluation & Reservoir Characterization
- Responsible for formation evaluation and reservoir characterization to support hydrocarbon exploration, development and production.
- Interpret open-hole, cased-hole and LWD logging data.
- Determine lithology, porosity, permeability, water saturation and net pay.
- Evaluate hydrocarbon potential, fluid contacts and reservoir quality.
- Integrate log, core, SCAL and pressure data.
- Prepare petrophysical models and reservoir property distributions.
2. Drilling & Well Operations Support
Provide petrophysical support throughout drilling and well execution activities.
Responsibilities
- Plan formation evaluation programmes and logging requirements.
- Support real-time drilling and logging operations.
- Review logging quality and contractor deliverables.
- Recommend coring, formation testing and fluid sampling intervals (if required)
- Support geo-steering, completion and well perforation activities.
- Recommend completion and perforation intervals.
- Liaise with drilling, completion and service companies during operations as needed
3. Reservoir Studies & Field Development
Support reservoir studies and field development planning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare petrophysical inputs for static geological models.
- Develop rock types/facies, permeability, saturation models as required.
- Support volumetric estimation and reserve evaluations.
- Participate in reservoir characterization and uncertainty analysis.
- Support FDP, reservoir simulation and production optimization studies.
4. Well Surveillance, Intervention & Abandonment
Monitor reservoir performance and support well integrity throughout the asset life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Interpret cased-hole surveillance logs and reservoir monitoring data.
- Identify bypassed hydrocarbons, water breakthrough and crossflow.
- Recommend reperforation and support well intervention programmes.
- Provide petrophysical inputs for Plug & Abandonment (P&A).
- Evaluate cement integrity, barrier placement and reservoir isolation.
- Support regulatory requirements for well abandonment.
5. Exploration, Appraisal & Business Development
Support exploration activities and commercial evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate future exploration and appraisal wells if required.
- Support prospect and resource assessments.
- Prepare technical inputs for field development decisions.
- Perform technical due diligence for acquisitions and divestments.
- Support business development and new venture evaluations.
- Present technical findings to management and partners.
6. Data Management & Technical Assurance
Maintain high-quality petrophysical data and technical standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain corporate petrophysical databases.
- Ensure quality control of log, core and laboratory data.
- Standardize interpretation workflows and documentation.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain interpretation records.
- Support digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives.
PERSON SPECIFICATION – SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong petrophysical evaluation experience across Malaysian and/or international operations.
- Good understanding of geological settings, petroleum geoscience, reservoir engineering and modelling.
- Able to coordinate projects, mentor team members and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Good commercial awareness, including portfolio management, economics and key business drivers.
- Proactive, adaptable and solution-oriented, with a strong focus on teamwork and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Relevant sciences degree.
- Minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience, preferably gained with more than one Operator.
- Able to demonstrate continuing professional and personal development.
