We are seeking an experienced Welding Inspector to support pipeline fabrication and installation activities on a major offshore project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring welding quality, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship throughout fabrication and pipelay operations.
Role would be based on 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotation.
Quick start is required for this role - 27th August Mobilisation
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in welding inspection within the offshore oil & gas, pipeline, or marine construction sectors.
- Demonstrable experience with pipelay welding techniques, including SWS and SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) processes.
- Strong understanding of welding procedures, qualification requirements, and fabrication standards.
- Extensive experience inspecting welds involving both J-bevel and X-bevel joint preparations.
- Fully conversant with the requirements of DNV-ST-F101 (2021) and their application to pipeline fabrication and installation.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, welding documentation, and inspection reportingExperience:
- Proven track record supporting offshore pipeline, spoolbase, or subsea fabrication projects.
- Experience monitoring welding activities and ensuring compliance with approved WPSs, project specifications, and industry standards.
- Strong background in weld visual inspection, fit-up inspection, and review of welding records.
- Experience working closely with fabrication, construction, and quality teams to resolve welding-related issues.
- Familiarity with pipeline girth weld production environments and high-volume welding operations.
- Previous involvement in large-scale offshore pipeline or EPC projects would be highly advantageous.
