Job Title: Piping Material Engineer
Duration: 6 months

This opportunity is focused on piping material definition for major engineering contracts within the oil and gas sector. The role supports project delivery across piping classes, valve datasheets, material requisitions, technical bid analysis, vendor documentation review, and bulk material management, while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams. This position offers strong technical scope and visibility across complex project environments.
Required Experience:
- Approximately 10 years of experience in piping material definition.
- Experience within the oil and gas sector is considered central to the role.
- Strong knowledge of engineering processes across contract types, with particular emphasis on bulk material management processes.
- Experience supporting major contracts and coordinating with project management and technical discipline teams.
Required Skills:
- Ability to prepare piping classes summary in collaboration with process engineering teams.
- Experience producing piping material job specifications for design and supply, along with valve datasheets.
- Capability to participate in material take-off activities, including working instructions, coordination, reporting, and quantities management.
- Experience using Smart Plant Materials software for quantities management.
- Ability to issue specifications and material requisitions for inquiry and order.
- Technical bid analysis, vendor clarification handling, and preparation of procurement recommendations.
- Vendor documentation review skills.
- Strong communication, analysis, summarising, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and engage with engineering teams, suppliers, partners, and construction companies.
- Fluent English.
