Role Context
This role is based on the MoreTec project in Wesseling, Germany, within a construction site environment. The Piping Supervisor x 2 - Wesseling role reports to the Construction Superintendent and is focused on coordinating and supervising piping and mechanical contractor works on site. The working environment involves collaboration with other superintendents and multiple contractors across active construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support contractors carrying out piping and mechanical works on site.
Coordinate construction activities with other superintendents and contractors to promote safe and efficient execution.
Monitor work to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and discipline specifications.
Review contractor method statements to confirm work will be completed in controlled, safe, and productive ways.
Promote a safe working environment and support achievement of HSSE goals across site activities.
Evaluate contractor competencies, procedures, staffing, and work processes throughout the construction phase.
Support the operation of the permit to work system.
Attend construction and contractor meetings as required.
Maintain daily reviews and logs of construction activity.
Ensure satisfactory operation and maintenance of contractor temporary facilities.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Time served apprentice certificate from a piping or mechanical background, or a national certificate qualification from a similar background.
Essential:
10+ years of relevant site piping and mechanical construction experience.
Essential:
Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience.
Essential:
Knowledge of German piping and mechanical industry specifications, codes, and standards.
Essential:
Ability to monitor contractor work and inspect piping and mechanical activities.
Essential:
Ability to coordinate work area requirements for multiple contractors.
Essential:
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
Essential:
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office programmes.
Essential:
Working knowledge of written and spoken German, with understanding of spoken English.
