A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Primary Design Engineer to join their team in Sydney to deliver complex electrical infrastructure projects across Australia.
Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will be involved in the design and delivery of high-voltage infrastructure projects from concept development through to detailed design and construction support. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare primary design deliverables for HV and EHV electrical infrastructure projects.
- Develop substation layouts, equipment arrangements and key design documentation.
- Produce technical specifications and support equipment selection activities.
- Contribute to design development across concept, preliminary and detailed design phases.
- Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
- Participate in technical reviews and ensure designs meet project and regulatory requirements.
- Support construction and commissioning activities as required.
- Assist with project planning, risk identification and technical problem solving.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety and technical compliance throughout project delivery.
About You
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience delivering primary design solutions within transmission, distribution, utilities or related infrastructure sectors.
- Understanding of HV and EHV substation design principles and primary plant systems.
- Experience preparing technical documentation and engineering reports.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian standards and industry practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Professional registration or progress toward registration will be highly regarded.
