This opportunity is based in Long Beach, California and focuses on leading electrical engineering delivery across a portfolio of oil, gas, and chemical projects. The role offers scope to manage engineering teams, oversee design execution, and support project delivery involving MV and LV electrical distribution systems, substations, ETAP, and SKM. This company is recognised for delivering engineering, procurement and construction management services across complex energy and infrastructure environments.
Required Education:
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering
Required Experience:
12+ years of electrical engineering experience in the oil and gas industry
Extensive experience delivering electrical engineering work in the same or similar industry within multi-disciplinary projects and teams
Experience leading electrical engineering delivery across portfolios of projects and supervising engineers and designers
Experience with refineries, brownfield projects, and executed facilities
Experience supporting procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
Required Skills:
Strong technical capability in development and design of MV and LV electrical distribution systems
Experience with equipment selection, protective relay selection, power management system configuration, and interface management
Ability to perform and review power systems studies and protective device settings
Technical experience in MEC installation, cable tray installation, conduit work, underground work, substations, medium voltage systems, and 13.8kV systems
Proficient use of ETAP, SKM, SPL, and MS Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to plan, organise, direct, and supervise engineering work to achieve quality, compliance, and delivery objectives
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team development capability
Excellent knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, related engineering disciplines, and applicable statutory and regulatory standards
Required Certifications:
Professional Engineer status such as PE or P. Eng
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management, or supervisory disciplines
