  • Support daily operations through close engagement with operations, maintenance, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Develop and improve preventative maintenance strategies, procedures, and technical documentation.

  • Manage and track punch-list items, ensuring issues are investigated, resolved, and closed out effectively.

  • Provide technical leadership during equipment outages, commissioning activities, and fault investigations.

  • Support development of scopes of work for third party contactors to undertake engineering and design services.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capability, including the ability to analyse event logs, alarms, and operational data to determine root causes.

  • Proven experience investigating and resolving dry-type transformer failures, including burnout and overheating issues.

  • Experience identifying and resolving recurring equipment failures, such as beacons, instrumentation, and electrical component faults.

  • Strong understanding of electrical equipment internals and hardware operation, with the ability to fault-find beyond drawing reviews and documentation.

  • Experience with IT and TN-S earthing systems and associated electrical protection requirements.

  • Strong knowledge of Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs), including synchronization of generators to busbars and synchronization between generating units.

  • Conversant with High Voltage Partial Discharge (HV PD) monitoring systems and interpretation of monitoring data.

  • Thorough understanding of commissioning, testing, and inspection requirements for electrical equipment and power systems.

  • Experience developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures and reliability improvement programs.

  • Ability to troubleshoot directly from electrical drawings, schematics, protection diagrams, and system documentation.

  • Review & approval of revised/new electrical deliverables produced by third parties.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in offshore, FPSO, oil & gas, power generation, or process facilities.

  • Experience supporting brownfield operational facilities with critical electrical infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) principles and root cause analysis methodologies.

  • Experience managing interfaces between operations, maintenance, engineering, and vendors during fault investigations and corrective action implementation.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly analytical with a structured approach to problem solving.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify underlying causes rather than treating symptoms.

  • Effective communicator capable of translating complex technical issues into practical solutions.

  • Proactive and collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement and issue resolution.

  • Comfortable working in operational environments where equipment reliability and plant availability are critical.

  • Willingness to travel to Darwin regularly (monthly business trips).
