    Role Overview

  • Execute design and draughting activities for Concept Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study, and Detailed Design.
  • Prepare structural drawings and designs from agreed work scopes with minimal input from engineering personnel.
  • Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract.
  • Assess effectiveness of working practices and systems to continuously improve personal and team performance.
  • Carry out work in accordance with project Health Safety Environmental and Quality systems.
  • Conduct site surveys to gather necessary data for design.
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
  • Ensure all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
  • Maintain required technical quality of work and keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain filing system for project documentation.
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project team.
  • Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required.
  • Assist Lead/Senior Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.
  • Skills & Qualifications
  • Structural Engineering: Strong foundation in structural engineering principles.
  • PDMS: Proficient in using PDMS for design tasks.
  • Manual Draughting Techniques: Knowledge of manual draughting techniques is advantageous.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in using databases and spreadsheets.
  • CAD Draughting: Sound knowledge of CAD draughting techniques.
  • Standards Awareness: Familiarity with codes of practice, standards, and relevant statutory documentation applicable to draughting functions.
  • Design Creation: Ability to create base design drawings/models from agreed work scope with minimal guidance.
  • Delegated Responsibility: Capable of accepting delegated responsibility for designated tasks.
  • Quality Assurance: Experience in acting as a focal point/checking of others' work.
  • Education & Experience
  • Qualifications: ONC or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in structural design within the oil and gas industry is preferred.
