Role Overview
- Execute design and draughting activities for Concept Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study, and Detailed Design.
- Prepare structural drawings and designs from agreed work scopes with minimal input from engineering personnel.
- Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract.
- Assess effectiveness of working practices and systems to continuously improve personal and team performance.
- Carry out work in accordance with project Health Safety Environmental and Quality systems.
- Conduct site surveys to gather necessary data for design.
- Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
- Ensure all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
- Maintain required technical quality of work and keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards, and legislative requirements.
- Maintain filing system for project documentation.
- Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project team.
- Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required.
- Assist Lead/Senior Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.
- Skills & Qualifications
- Structural Engineering: Strong foundation in structural engineering principles.
- PDMS: Proficient in using PDMS for design tasks.
- Manual Draughting Techniques: Knowledge of manual draughting techniques is advantageous.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in using databases and spreadsheets.
- CAD Draughting: Sound knowledge of CAD draughting techniques.
- Standards Awareness: Familiarity with codes of practice, standards, and relevant statutory documentation applicable to draughting functions.
- Design Creation: Ability to create base design drawings/models from agreed work scope with minimal guidance.
- Delegated Responsibility: Capable of accepting delegated responsibility for designated tasks.
- Quality Assurance: Experience in acting as a focal point/checking of others' work.
- Education & Experience
- Qualifications: ONC or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject.
- Experience: Relevant experience in structural design within the oil and gas industry is preferred.
