PROCESS ENGINEERING SPECIALIST
Job Purpose
- Advise and support Process Engineering related activities during EPC and Startup phase until handover to permanent Asset whilst ensuring project deliverables meet Operations expectations in term of Safety, Operability, Reliability and Maintainability over the facility design life cycle.
Internal
• Regular contact with Project Management Team (PMT) and Operations departments.
• Periodic contact with Engineering & Projects Group and HSEQ.
External
- Frequent contact with Shareholders Subject Matter Experts, EPC contractors, vendors, suppliers, and engineering consultants.
- Able to effectively influence project decisions based not only on CAPEX but considering OPEX for the project life cycle.
- Ensures compliance with QG specifications, processes and procedures for the assigned projects.
- Participate in reviews and provide technical inputs to designs and procedures for the implementation of approved field operations whilst mitigating new technology risks introduced by the project.
- As defined for this job level in the Delegation of Authority and/or approved budget.
Firewall Compliance
- Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety, Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations and standards.

- Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti – trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate and provide process engineering supports to RCFA, Hazop, FRA, Hazid, SIL verification and process safety and reliability issues.
- Support development of Standard Operating Procedures required for the new projects.
- Develop and implement process surveillance tools for Operations assets in compliance with surveillance plan to ensure safe, reliable and optimum production, including troubleshooting, engineering recommendations and timely escalation of threats and deviations from surveillance monitoring.
- Active participation in System Completions processes for Walk-down prior to commissioning and startup (eg, witness of chemical/catalysts loading, etc).
- Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact new project Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security.
- Provide technical input related to area of expertise to other disciplines and functions as per requirements to support overall business objectives.
- Support and facilitate smooth completion of project tie-in requirements for all systems under the area of responsibility.
- Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact new project Reliability, Availability and Cyber Security.
- Support high risk commissioning activities for high complexities & large scale projects by (a) undertaking stringent system surveillance, (b) tuning and optimizing systems, and (c) providing advisory supports to Operations and Maintenance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
• 8 years' experience in an oil and gas environment.
Technical and Business Skills
• Able to work and make decisions under highly stressing conditions.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Strong leadership & people skills.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP).
