Vacancy Overview:
This opportunity sits within a major consumer-facing retail environment and focuses on procurement delivery, supplier management and commercial leadership across a complex regional business. The role will shape demand, translate business priorities into procurement plans and drive value realisation through close coordination with category, sourcing and supplier management teams. This position offers strong visibility, meaningful stakeholder engagement and direct impact on operational performance, third-party spend management and procurement transformation.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
Required Experience:
7-10 yrs Retail procurement experience.
Extensive experience in procurement, supplier management and commercial negotiations.
Significant experience within convenience retail, grocery, food retail, hospitality retail or other multi-site consumer-facing retail environments.
Strong experience translating business strategy into operational execution and measurable outcomes.
Experience partnering with Operations, Finance and Commercial leadership teams.
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders in complex environments.
Track record of delivering change and transformation while improving procurement value delivery and business performance.
Required Skills:
Strong commercial and procurement acumen across sourcing, supplier management, contracting, negotiations and value delivery.
Ability to shape demand, prioritise requirements and develop clear procurement delivery plans.
Capability to identify, track, realise and report savings and value in alignment with Finance and performance frameworks.
Strong understanding of demand management, procurement delivery, sourcing and contract management.
Knowledge of convenience operating models, store economics, merchandising operations and indirect spend management.
Ability to build trusted relationships with senior business leaders and translate priorities into procurement action.
Strong supplier relationship management skills, including resolving performance issues and unlocking innovation opportunities.
Cross-functional coordination across category, sourcing, supplier management, Finance, Operations and Commercial teams.
Risk, governance and compliance awareness, including supplier, delivery, commercial and compliance risks.
Data-driven problem solving using spend data, market insight and performance metrics to support decisions.
Leadership, coaching and change management capability within a matrix environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional procurement qualification.
Postgraduate degree.
