Procurement Specialist (Materials Management – E&P Projects) - QATAR
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage and oversee Materials Management functions for Category III to VI E&P projects. This role will support project teams by providing strategic direction, technical expertise, and hands-on procurement and logistics management across multiple ongoing and shutdown projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute Materials Management activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Provide procurement and materials support across all ongoing PMD and shutdown projects.
- Support pre-Gate 2 activities by assisting FDE/PED teams in developing procurement strategies, including budgetary quotations and delivery schedules for long-lead items.
- Review and approve contractor procurement and materials management procedures.
- Supervise SAP-BOM updates in line with Gate V project close-out requirements.
- Monitor and track project and shutdown materials to ensure timely delivery as per project schedules.
- Manage surplus materials inventory and oversee blinding materials across projects.
- Coordinate procurement of long-lead items through centralized purchasing functions.
- Review and approve material reconciliation reports; collaborate with QA/QC, warehouse teams, and contractors for inspections.
- Maintain and update the Preferred Vendor List (PVL), including vendor prequalification processes.
- Supervise and guide Materials Coordinators, ensuring performance aligns with project needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mandatory).
- Certification in Materials Management (preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Materials Management within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proven track record managing materials for brownfield projects.
- Strong knowledge of change management practices, including leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Hands-on experience with SAP MM module, including procurement, expediting, and logistics.
- Experience in vendor development and prequalification processes.
