Product Buyer – 6-Month Contract

About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Product Buyer to support day-to-day logistics, procurement and warehouse coordination activities. This role is strongly logistics-focused and requires someone who can manage frequent shipments, coordinate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders, and prioritise multiple requirements in a fast-moving environment.
The role is approximately 50% Logistics, 35% Procurement/Buying and 15% Warehouse Coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Shipment Coordination
Coordinate incoming shipments from overseas suppliers and factories.
Liaise with freight forwarders, courier companies, transporters and vendors.
Arrange inland transportation and deliveries to customers across West Malaysia.
Track and expedite shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Manage multiple frequent shipments and prioritise urgent requirements effectively.
Resolve day-to-day shipment and delivery issues.
Maintain accurate inbound and outbound shipment records in the ERP system.
Procurement & Buying
Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved requirements.
Follow up and expedite outstanding POs with vendors.
Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules and commercial requirements.
Support basic sourcing activities and obtain supplier quotations.
Conduct price comparisons before PO creation.
Handle office-related purchases and consumable requirements.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Warehouse Coordination
Coordinate goods-in-transit within the office/warehouse environment.
Ensure goods are properly stored, labelled and organised for identification and retrieval.
Monitor office and packaging consumables and arrange replenishment when required.
Requirements
Diploma or equivalent qualification.
2–3 years of relevant experience in logistics, shipping, procurement, purchasing or a related function.
Candidates from 3PL, freight forwarding, courier or shipping environments are encouraged to apply.
Experience coordinating frequent shipments and deliveries is highly preferred.
Basic understanding of Purchase Orders and procurement processes; training on the company's PO process will be provided.
ERP experience is advantageous.
Able to understand quotations, basic commercial terms and work instructions in English.
Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
Able to prioritise multiple shipments and operational requirements effectively.
Comfortable working closely with Sales, vendors, logistics providers and other internal stakeholders.
Available to commence at short notice is highly preferred.
Working Arrangement
Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
Flexible starting hours within the company's operating arrangement.
Office/warehouse-based in Petaling Jaya.
Initial 6-month contract, with potential extension depending on business requirements.
