Airswift is seeking an experienced Production & Operations Advisor to join a leading oil and gas operation on Barrow Island. This role is responsible for providing frontline operational leadership, coordinating safe and efficient field operations, and ensuring compliance with operational, environmental, and safety requirements across production, well operations, and decommissioning activities.
About the Role
The Production & Operations Advisor serves as the onsite subject matter expert for Control of Work (CoW) processes and acts as the key interface between field operations and Perth-based support teams. The role provides operational oversight, contractor supervision, and assurance that all activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the onsite SME for Control of Work (CoW), Permit to Work (PTW), and Well Lease Control processes.
- Review and approve high-risk permits and provide oversight of CoW compliance across field operations.
- Conduct operational assurance activities, including compliance reviews, field inspections, and contractor audits.
- Supervise and allocate work to operations, maintenance, and site services personnel.
- Approve contractor timesheets and provide day-to-day supervision and support.
- Perform Functional Reviewer responsibilities for operational changes and Management of Change (MoC) processes.
- Provide operational leadership and support for well operations and decommissioning activities.
- Review site priorities, schedules, and execution plans to ensure safe and efficient delivery of work.
- Participate in maintenance planning and scheduling meetings and support progression of work orders through the CMMS.
- Review ground disturbance and vegetation management requests, providing operational input where required.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and operational performance requirements are consistently met.
- Act as the primary field contact for operational matters with Perth-based support teams.
- Participate in emergency response activities and fulfil Emergency Management Team responsibilities when required.
- Provide relief support for site leadership roles as required.
- Support budget management and effective utilisation of operational resources.

Skills & Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience in oil and gas production operations.
- Strong understanding of Control of Work, Permit to Work, and operational risk management systems.
- Experience supervising operational and contractor personnel in a high-risk environment.
- Sound knowledge of Management of Change (MoC) processes and operational assurance activities.
- Experience supporting well operations, maintenance, shutdowns, or decommissioning activities.
- Strong planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
- Current Australian working rights.
- Previous experience working on remote operations sites is highly regarded.
