One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Project Controls – Cost to work on a 12-months assignment in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management.
  • Forecasting.
  • Change Control.
  • Earned Value Management/EAC.
  • Risk Management.
  • Project Performance Monitoring.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and build strong relationships across cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying issues and developing solutions.
  • Standard office environment with periodic site visits and exposure to construction project environments.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support project execution activities.
  • Analyze and interpret complex financial, operational, and project information.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management, contractors, vendors, and project personnel.
  • Develop solutions to complex project challenges using analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Produce professional reports, presentations, correspondence, and business documentation.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working under schedule and reporting deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project controls, cost controls, field controls, construction management, project accounting, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital projects or programs within oil and gas, pipeline, terminal, utility, energy, industrial, or infrastructure environments.
  • Strong understanding of project cost management, forecasting, accruals, commitments, earned value management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of contract administration, invoice validation, payment certification, and change management processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills such as: Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP, Advanced formulas and reporting tools.

  • Oracle Projects
  • Power BI
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • SharePoint
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Experience developing dashboards, financial reports, and automated reporting solutions is considered an asset.
