Position Overview

Role Context

This role sits within an EPCIC project environment and supports full project delivery across planning, monitoring, controls and change management activities. The position works closely with project leadership, including the Project Manager and Project Director, and contributes across engineering and execution phases. The working environment is focused on project performance, HSES, schedule, cost and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project leadership in project planning, monitoring, controls and management of change activities throughout project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project planning packages and control baselines in line with contract requirements.
  • Monitor, analyse and report project performance against baseline plans, identifying issues and opportunities at an early stage.
  • Lead planning and controls activities across work breakdown structures, organisational breakdown structures, cost breakdown structures, milestone tracking, progress measurement and reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, start-up schedules, critical path reviews, resource plans, histograms and progress reporting frameworks.
  • Support development of the Project Execution Plan, including execution strategy, organisation, milestones, resource planning, quality objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Manage planning and controls resources to ensure responsibilities are delivered in line with project requirements.
  • Review monthly cost and progress reports for accuracy and communicate schedule and cost forecast changes to stakeholders.
  • Identify, document and communicate planning and controls requirements to relevant project stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage change, cost and schedule issues in collaboration with the project team.
  • Oversee cost estimating, budget control, forecasting, trend identification and actions to mitigate overruns.
  • Contribute to risk management activities, including risk registers, workshops and monitoring of mitigation actions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential: Degree in Engineering, including Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical, from a recognised higher learning institution.
  • Essential: Registration with the Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM).
  • Essential: Minimum of ten years of experience working as a Project Engineer.
  • Essential: Experience in project planning, schedule development, progress reporting, change management and project contract requirements.
  • Desirable: Experience within the T&I industry.
