Job Title: Project HSE Manager
Duration: 12 months
Schedule: Full-time, 3 days per week in Kingston
Location: Kingston
This opportunity sits within a global engineering and construction business supporting the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a focus on complex onshore and offshore projects and the energy transition toward Net Zero. The role will lead project HSE management across the engineering and development phases of an EPIC project, acting as a key focal point for HSE performance, risk management, and compliance with IOGP and ISO standards. This position offers the chance to influence project delivery, support multidisciplinary teams, and drive high standards across design and site activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the correct development, management, and continuous improvement of the project HSE management system throughout the engineering and development phases of the project.
- Act as the HSE focal point for the project and oversee all HSE matters across the project lifecycle.
- Interface with stakeholders and administer the HSE section of the contract.
- Develop and coordinate the HSE team supporting both design and site activities.
- Provide HSE support and advice to project management.
- Apply knowledge of CDM regulations and UK legislation within project activities.
- Interface with and support the environmental management team.
- Lead accident and incident investigations.
- Establish and implement HSE monitoring and audit programmes.
- Lead risk management activities including HAZOP, HAZID, Hazard and Effect Management Process, and risk assessments.
- Support subcontractor HSE management activities.
- Promote periodic project HSE reviews and ensure completion of the project HSE close-out report.
Required Education & Certifications:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as an HSE manager (Required)
- 10+ years of experience within HSE activities (Required)
- Experience working to IOGP standards (Required)
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of project HSE management systems across engineering and development phases.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and UK legislation.
- Ability to lead accident and incident investigations.
- Ability to establish and implement HSE monitoring and audit programmes.
- Risk management capability including HAZOP, HAZID, Hazard and Effect Management Process, and risk assessment.
- Ability to coordinate HSE personnel across design and site environments.
- Capability to provide HSE support and advice to project management.
Preferred Education & Certifications:
- Tech IOSH or above (Preferred)
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification (Preferred)
