Senior Project Manager – Major Capital Execution (Gas Processing Facilities)
Location: Calgary, AB Project Size: 200–500MM Scope: Gas?processing facilities, compression, pipelines, terminals, brownfield/greenfield execution
Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for full?cycle execution of major capital projects within gas?processing and midstream facility environments. The role oversees engineering, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities to deliver safe, operable, cost?effective assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead execution of 200–500MM capital projects involving gas?processing facilities, compression, pipelines, and associated infrastructure.
- Drive FEL/DBM/FEED development and ensure scope clarity, constructability, and alignment with technical standards.
- Manage EPC/EPCM contractors, construction partners, and multi?discipline engineering teams.
- Oversee cost, schedule, risk, change management, and performance reporting.
- Coordinate interfaces across engineering, operations, integrity, regulatory, environment, and construction.
- Lead HAZOPs, design reviews, technical assurance, and operability/maintainability validation.
- Ensure compliance with CSA Z662, B31.3, and corporate engineering standards.
- Support construction readiness, SIMOPS planning, commissioning, and safe turnover to Operations.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Champion safety and field leadership throughout execution.
Candidate Profile
- 15–25+ years delivering large capital gas?processing or midstream facility projects.
- Strong background in facilities, pipelines, compression, terminals, or gas plants.
- Proven success managing EPC/EPCM contractors and multi?discipline teams.
- Deep understanding of project governance, stage?gate processes, and technical assurance.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capability.
- Ability to drive clarity, challenge engineering assumptions, and manage complex interface
