A leading global engineering, architecture, and project delivery company is seeking a Project Manager to support pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial manufacturing projects in Malaysia. This Project Manager opportunity offers involvement across the full project lifecycle, from front-end planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and qualification. The Project Manager will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality outcomes on schedule and within budget while working in a client-facing project management consultancy environment.

Core sectors include pharmaceuticals and biotech, medical technologies, food and beverage, data centers, and advanced manufacturing. The company delivers services across the full project lifecycle, from concept design and engineering through construction management and commissioning, supporting the delivery of advanced and sustainable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the client on assigned pharmaceutical and industrial projects

- Manage the full project lifecycle across concept, FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and qualification

- Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resourcing plans

- Coordinate and monitor the performance of design consultants, contractors, and vendors

- Manage project risk registers, change control processes, and mitigation plans

- Oversee project cost control, forecasting, variance analysis, and monthly reporting

- Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, cGMP and qualification protocols, and relevant regulatory and statutory approvals

- Champion health, safety, and environmental standards on site

- Chair progress meetings, record actions, and drive follow-up to completion

- Support tendering and procurement activities, including scope definition, bid evaluation, and contractor or vendor selection

- Mentor junior project engineers and coordinators assigned to the project team

Requirements:

- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline

- Approximately 10 to 15 years of project management experience

- Demonstrable experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or industrial/process facility projects

- Prior project management consultancy, owner's engineer, or client-side project management experience is strongly preferred

- Strong knowledge of project controls and scheduling tools such as MS Project and Primavera P6

- Strong commercial awareness and cost-control capability

- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills

- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and multiple contractors or vendors concurrently

- Strong problem-solving ability with sound judgement under pressure

- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain a broad programme perspective

- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in an on-site environment with minimal supervision
