1. ABOUT LABA
Laba Holdings Limited is the umbrella landowner company of Porebada, Boera, Papa and Rea Rea in Central Province, Papua New Guinea, and operates a group of businesses across construction, logistics, training, technology and community services.
These positions form Laba's management team for a camp construction and services package on a major resources construction project in Papua New Guinea, for a 24-month term from contract award. Appointments are subject to contract award.
2. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Project Manager is the single point of accountability to the Client for all six service categories. The position owns the programme, the interface with the head contractor, and the Project Labour Agreement reconciliation. Everything that happens on site each day runs through this role.
3.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Run daily and weekly delivery across all six service categories against the priced schedule and the agreed programme.
•Own the interface with the head contractor site management team on access, sequencing, work fronts and interface risks.
•Own the Project Labour Agreement reconciliation, ensuring the rates applied on site match the agreed rate basis.
•Chair the weekly site coordination meeting and issue the weekly progress and manning report to the Project Director and the Client.
•Control the labour ramp-up by trade against the agreed monthly schedule, and escalate shortfalls before they hit the programme.
Approve timesheets, dockets and measurement records as the basis of the monthly claim.
•Hold the supervisors to the safety standard, and lead the site response to any incident.
•Manage the plant, fleet and camp service subcontract interfaces through M8 and M9.
•Deputise for the Project Director on site matters.
4.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
•Ten years or more in construction, camp services or industrial site management, with at least four years managing a multi-discipline site team.
•Experience managing a workforce of 150 or more across trades and general labour.
•Demonstrated control of programme, manning and measurement on a measured-work contract.
•Working knowledge of the PNG Employment Act 1978 and PNG industrial relations practice.
•Diploma or degree in construction management, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Desirable
•Prior work on a major LNG or comparable resource project in PNG.
•Experience working to an EPC head contractor's permit and HSE systems.
