Scheduler: 5/40

This opportunity is suited to an experienced construction professional with a strong background in industrial project delivery within the oil and gas sector. This position is focused on leading assigned projects through safe, efficient, and high-quality execution while supporting schedule, resource, and commercial objectives. The role requires strong coordination across project teams and stakeholders, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding field environment.

The role is aligned to large industrial mechanical, piping, structural, or civil construction projects, with a clear preference for experience gained in oil and gas environments. Candidates should be comfortable operating across active construction settings, including site and laydown yard activity, while working closely with project teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned construction projects to achieve safety, quality, schedule, equipment, material, and cost objectives.

  • Review project documentation with the project team and determine practical, cost-effective construction methods and resource plans.

  • Coordinate project activity with relevant stakeholders and support effective communication across construction teams.

  • Manage project staff, including support personnel, superintendents, general foremen, and assistants.

  • Monitor project costs against budgets and support regular reporting on labour, progress, forecasting, and overall performance.

  • Support project completion through scheduling, expediting material deliveries, and managing document and material submittals.

  • Lead project coordination meetings and contribute to closeout activities at the appropriate stage of delivery.

  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture throughout all stages of project execution.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience managing large industrial mechanical, piping, structural, or civil construction projects.

  • Minimum 5 years of oil and gas industry experience, including at least 3 years in project management.

  • Valid driver’s licence.

  • Construction or general business degree preferred.

  • Estimating experience would be advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of project plans, specifications, drawings, submittals, and related construction documentation.

  • Strong project controls capability, including cost forecasting, progress tracking, and scheduling using Microsoft Project or P6.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and teams effectively.

  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain performance in a fast-paced construction environment.
