Job Title: Project Manager IV
Duration: 12 Month assignment with possibility of extension
Schedule: Mon - Fri, 40 hours per week with OT as needed through Turnaround Events
Location:
This opportunity is suited to an experienced engineering and project management professional leading capital projects across refining, petrochemical, oil, and gas environments. The role focuses on planning, design, execution, construction oversight, commissioning, startup, and closeout while maintaining alignment with safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives. This position offers broad exposure across the full project lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on FEL development, Project Execution Plans, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and refinery operations.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Required Experience:
- More than 10 years of project management experience in refining, petrochemical, oil, and gas industries
- At least 5 years of experience as a project manager with sole accountability for project delivery
- Experience leading capital projects through the full project lifecycle from concept through completion
- Experience working on-site in refinery operations and collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Contractors, and Executive Leadership
- Experience assembling and leading project teams while managing engineering resources and contractors
Required Skills:
- Strong capability in Front-End Loading, stage-gate reviews, and management approval processes
- Development and execution of Project Execution Plans
- Capital project planning, design, execution, commissioning, startup, and closeout
- Cost estimating, budget management, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
- Schedule development, monitoring, and project performance management
- Contracting strategy development, contractor selection, bid evaluation, and contract administration
- Vendor, fabricator, and specialty contractor management
- Risk management planning and mitigation
- Quality assurance and quality control oversight
- Refinery stakeholder engagement and cross-functional team leadership
- Safety leadership and delivery of projects in compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- KPI development and project performance measurement
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced project environment
- Working knowledge of industry-recommended practices, design methodologies, QA/QC standards, regulatory requirements, and refinery operations
- Change management and procurement oversight
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- PMP Certification
