Airswift is looking for a Project Scheduler to support a major client on a long-term contract on a remote setting
The Project Scheduler is responsible for the development, maintenance, and integrity of project schedules across the company portfolio of deep-sea mineral development projects. Supporting multiple projects simultaneously, this role is the specialist point of accountability for all scheduling activity — from early-stage concept schedules through to detailed execution plans.
A critical function of the role is the receipt, review, and integration of contractor-supplied Primavera P6 schedules into company's master project schedules, ensuring a single, coherent view of progress and critical path across all workstreams.
The Scheduler works closely with Project Managers and the Project Controls Engineer to ensure schedule data drives meaningful decision-making at every Stage Gate.
Responsibilities:
Schedule development and maintenance
Develop and maintain fully resource- and logic-linked project schedules in Primavera P6 and MS Project across multiple concurrent capital projects, from pre-FEED through to production
Build schedules from first principles, establishing work breakdown structures (WBS), activity dictionaries, logic sequences, durations, and resource assignments in alignment with the Stage Gate Development Framework
Maintain schedule baselines and manage all updates through a clearly defined schedule update cycle, ensuring version control and audit trail integrity
Identify, monitor, and report the critical path and near-critical paths for each project, flagging risks to key milestones proactively
Develop and maintain summary-level milestone schedules for senior leadership and external stakeholder reporting, alongside detailed working schedules for project teams
Contractor schedule integration
Receive, review, and validate P6 schedules submitted by contractors and vendors — assessing logic, resourcing, float, and compliance with company's scheduling standards and contract requirements
Identify schedule anomalies, missing logic, open ends, and unrealistic durations in contractor submissions; prepare formal review comments and track resolution
Integrate contractor P6 schedules into company's master project schedule, maintaining interface logic and ensuring alignment between internal and contractor activities
Manage the schedule interface register, tracking cross-contractor and cross-project dependencies and escalating conflicts to the Project Manager
Participate in contractor progress meetings and schedule review workshops, providing independent schedule analysis and challenging contractor narratives where required
Reporting and analysis
Produce weekly and monthly schedule performance reports — including earned value schedule metrics (SPI, SV), float trend analysis, and look-ahead schedules — for Project Managers, the Project Controls Engineer, and VP Project Delivery
Support quantitative schedule risk analysis (QSRA) using Monte Carlo simulation tools (e.g. Primavera Risk Analysis / Oracle Risk), translating outputs into probabilistic completion forecasts
Maintain schedule change logs and support the formal change control process by modelling the schedule impact of proposed scope changes and presenting options to the Project Manager
Contribute to project close-out by capturing as-built schedules and feeding lessons learned into future schedule development
Support the development and continuous improvement of company's scheduling standards, templates, and coding structures as the project portfolio grows
Requirements:
7+ years of dedicated project scheduling experience on major capital projects in the offshore energy, subsea, marine, or mining sectors
Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 — including multi-project environments, resource loading, baseline management, schedule coding, and reporting; P6 Professional certification highly regarded
Strong working proficiency in MS Project, including cross-project linking, master schedule consolidation, and stakeholder reporting outputs
Demonstrated experience receiving, auditing, and integrating contractor-supplied P6 schedules into owner master schedules — including identification of logic errors, float manipulation, and non-compliant submissions
Solid understanding of critical path method (CPM) scheduling, earned value management, and schedule risk analysis principles
Experience working across multiple concurrent projects in a portfolio environment, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing schedule demands
Familiarity with quantitative schedule risk analysis (QSRA) tools and methodology — experience with Primavera Risk Analysis or equivalent is advantageous
Strong interpersonal skills — comfortable challenging contractor schedule submissions constructively and presenting schedule data clearly to project teams and leadership
Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a track record of maintaining schedule integrity under project pressure
Relevant degree in engineering, project management, or a related discipline
PMI Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional certification is preferred but not required
