Job Title: Project Shutdown Planner
Location: Qatar
This opportunity is based in Qatar within the oil and gas sector, supporting integrated shutdown planning across project scopes during pre-shutdown, shutdown and post-shutdown phases. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, progress reporting, critical path analysis, and alignment of integrated hourly shutdown schedules in line with established shutdown management processes. This position offers involvement in technically demanding project controls activities, working closely with project management teams, maintenance shutdown teams and contractors to support delivery performance and schedule integrity.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of multi-discipline experience in project planning and scheduling within the oil and gas industry
- Experience in project shutdown planning and scheduling across project phases
- Experience supporting pre-shutdown, shutdown and post-shutdown activities, including schedule alignment, clash reviews and progress reporting
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Primavera and Microsoft Office software
- Strong capability in integrated shutdown planning, scheduling and progress reporting
- Ability to review contractor deliverables including hourly shutdown schedules, durations, logic, productivity, target completion dates, resource loading, workforce planning, equipment planning, organisation charts, and weekly, daily and shift progress reports
- Critical path and near-critical path analysis skills
- Ability to support development and review of recovery plans in case of delays
- Strong planning skills
- High level of proficiency in written and spoken English
- Computer literacy involving regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
