Our client, a major O&G company, is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist IV to work on an initial 12-month contract in Duluth, MN, or Houston, TX.
This opportunity supports construction quality activities within the pipeline and facility construction environment, with a focus on process assessments, contract exhibit review, and specification compliance. The role contributes to quality management, regulatory alignment, and process improvement across construction projects, while working closely with technical teams and supporting field assessments. This position offers exposure to quality systems, pipeline safety regulations, and cross-functional collaboration in a technically demanding setting.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of prior experience working in the pipeline or facility construction industry.
- Minimum of 1 year of field construction experience.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to pipeline construction.
- Experience conducting or supporting process assessments, investigations, audits, or construction quality reviews.
Required Skills:
- Fundamental understanding of quality management principles and project management principles.
- Knowledge of governing regulations and standards, including API 1104 and Pipeline Safety Regulations 192 and 195.
- Ability to analyse construction quality data from sources such as audit logs, nonconformance logs, contract review logs, and regulatory audits.
- Ability to develop and maintain process documentation, procedures, guidelines, handbooks, work instructions, and presentations.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, reasoning, and judgement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to present project quality information to audiences of varied size and background.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Writer.
- Understanding of contract conformance processes and phase project lifecycle activities.
- Ability to build effective working relationships, support team collaboration, and manage conflict professionally.
- Ability to travel as needed, including frequent overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NACE 1 or higher (Preferred).
- CWI (Preferred).
- API 1169 (Preferred).
- QMS training (Preferred).
- Root cause analysis training (Preferred).
- Experience supporting inspection staff training or onboarding new quality team members.
