Quantity Surveyor (Qatar)
Qualifications (Mandatory)
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying OR an Engineering Discipline only.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in multidisciplinary Quantity Surveying, particularly for infrastructure and civil projects.
- Experience in the oil & gas, energy, industrial, petrochemical, or large-scale construction sectors is preferred.
- Practical experience in tendering, administration of re-measurable contracts, Bill of Quantities (BOQ) preparation, and cost estimation.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and perform Quantity Surveying activities for infrastructure and civil capital projects, including preparation and verification of Bills of Quantities (BOQs), manpower requirements, tender documentation, and contract documentation based on project scope.
- Participate in technical and commercial evaluations of tenders.
- Develop, maintain, and update installed cost databases and unit cost benchmarks for infrastructure, industrial, and energy-related projects.
- Capture and upload cost data from completed projects to enhance organizational cost estimating databases and improve future cost estimation accuracy.
- Manage cost engineering, budgeting, invoicing, and commercial matters related to projects executed within the engineering and project delivery functions.
- Determine appropriate estimating methodologies, unit rates, preliminaries, general requirements, and mark-ups for project cost estimates.
- Review, evaluate, endorse, or reject contractor invoices, variation claims, and time-dependent reimbursement submissions based on commercial assessments.
- Verify and endorse Bills of Quantities and manpower requirements prepared by engineering consultants and ensure alignment with construction and EPC/EPIC tendering and contract requirements.
- Conduct physical verification and certification of re-measurable works executed by contractors.
