Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Advisor to provide commercial oversight, cost control, quantity verification, and productivity assessment across major infrastructure and construction projects. This site-based role is ideal for a commercially astute professional who thrives in the field, enjoys working closely with project teams and contractors, and can provide fact-based insights that improve project outcomes.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Review contractor daily construction reports and timesheets, ensuring alignment with observed site activities, workforce deployment, and equipment utilisation.
  • Support the preparation of regular project performance reports, providing clear, evidence-based commercial and operational insights.
  • Conduct field-based quantity measurements and spot checks to verify installed quantities across construction activities.
  • Identify and report productivity inhibitors such as permit delays, material shortages, restricted access, work-front readiness issues, and labour or equipment over-resourcing.
  • Support contract management teams in the assessment and validation of claims, variations, and other commercial impacts
  • Build strong working relationships with project delivery teams, field engineers, project controls personnel, and contractor representatives.

Skills and Experience:

  • 5-10 years' experience in quantity surveying, construction cost control, project controls, or commercial project delivery within oil & gas, resources, energy, civil construction, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with pipeline, utilities, linear infrastructure, or similar large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong proficiency in quantity measurement, cost tracking, reporting systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Sound understanding of contract administration and commercial models, including unit rate, lump sum, and reimbursable contracts.
