Role Overview:

This opportunity supports rail fleet maintenance operations in a fast-paced transportation environment, with a strong focus on data accuracy, shop coordination, and transportation management systems. The role plays an important part in managing rail car shop activity, maintaining compliance-related records, and supporting communication between repair shops, lessors, and internal logistics stakeholders. This position would suit candidates with experience in rail logistics, fleet maintenance, or transportation operations who are highly organised and detail focused.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:

  • 2 or more years of experience in rail logistics, fleet management, or transportation operations.
  • Experience supporting rail car shop trips, repair estimates, invoices, diversion activity, or related rail maintenance coordination tasks.
  • Experience working with transportation management systems in an operational or logistics setting.

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate operational and compliance records.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to act with initiative and urgency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Business, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with rail maintenance platforms such as MyGatx or LinkNet.
  • Experience with rail transportation management systems.
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system in a logistics or supply chain environment.
  • 2 or more years of direct experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in bulk liquid transportation.
  • Basic understanding of rail car equipment.
  • Experience processing and managing repair estimates and OTMA compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of rail car mandatory inspection and testing requirements.
  • General rail knowledge, maintenance coordination experience, and strong Excel capability.
  • Fleet maintenance experience.
