Job Title: Reservoir Engineer / Advisor II or III
Duration: 12 months (possibility of extension)

This opportunity supports reservoir engineering activity within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on reservoir simulation, depletion planning and technical evaluation. The role offers the chance to contribute to high-impact reservoir management work, support leadership decision-making and help maintain strong technical standards across integrated project teams. This position will suit candidates with strong unconventional oil and gas experience and the ability to deliver detailed reservoir studies in a changing technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to the Reservoir Leadership Team to support performance objectives and maintain high technical standards.
  • Develop plans and programmes required by reservoir management.
  • Guide and support reservoir engineers in establishing and implementing plans that meet reservoir engineering requirements.
  • Perform or oversee detailed reservoir simulation studies to evaluate depletion schemes and investigate technical issues.
  • Complete or direct related studies required for simulation work, including PVT, inflow/outflow, relative permeability and SCAL evaluations.
  • Assess depletion plans to support asset acquisition evaluations.
  • Lead or participate in peer reviews to help maintain technical quality.
  • Provide technical input to drilling, facilities and other functions to support projects.
  • Mentor less experienced reservoir engineers in simulation and related studies.
  • Document results clearly in written and graphical formats.
  • Provide timely and focused updates of results and plans to management, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Develop project-specific strategies with the project team to address identified risks and challenges.
  • Support risk assessments, uncertainty analysis studies and value of information assessments for data acquisition plans.
  • Facilitate Reservoir Team meetings where required.
  • Deliver technical presentations and provide regulatory compliance support as needed.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • University degree or equivalent (Required)

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated work experience in Reservoir Engineering positions within the oil and gas industry (Required)
  • Approximately 7+ years of unconventional oil and gas experience (Required)
  • Familiarity with unconventional well behavior, type curve methodologies, and decline curve analysis
  • Develop, extend, and maintain 

    custom economic models

     in ComboCurve tailored to unconventional resource development.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional knowledge of reservoir engineering fundamentals and technical skills
  • Experience building, running and evaluating dynamic models to assess technical issues
  • Knowledge of how to conduct reservoir simulation studies efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to identify issues, develop solutions and conduct reservoir evaluations independently
  • Capability to direct and guide the work of less experienced engineers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Initiative and problem-solving capability, with flexibility to react to unforeseen conditions
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high levels of customer service, confidentiality and ethical behaviour
  • Working knowledge of reservoir management practices, processes and expectations
  • Ability to work effectively in an integrated project team environment and build successful working relationships
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively across multiple levels, from senior management to workforce level
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
  • Ability to work in an environment with changing priorities
