Rotating Equipment Engineer

Airswift is seeking for Rotating Equipment Engineer to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company.
JOB PURPOSE
Provide technical support and coordinate major maintenance activities for rotating equipment to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient start-up, operation and maintenance of rotating equipment across the Company’s onshore facilities, supporting plant availability and operational objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide technical and analytical support for rotating equipment during construction, pre commissioning, commissioning, and system completion activities to ensure equipment readiness for safe and reliable start-up.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for rotating equipment during plant start-up and operation to resolve equipment issues and minimize disruption to plant availability.
- Plan and support planned and unplanned major rotating equipment maintenance activities to ensure safe and timely execution and restoration of equipment availability.
- Review and verify the quality of rotating equipment maintenance and refurbishment activities to ensure compliance with applicable technical standards, specifications, and equipment requirements.
- Coordinate gas turbine and compressor maintenance activities with Asset Maintenance, OEMs, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure work is properly prepared and executed in accordance with approved requirements.
- Review critical rotating equipment spares and obsolescence requirements and recommend stock, procurement, and upgrade actions to support equipment reliability and long-term availability.
- Initiate and support equipment modifications and upgrades arising from failures, bad-actor analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives to improve rotating equipment performance and reliability.
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), risk assessments, and Hazardous Operability Studies (HAZOP) to identify equipment risks, determine causes of failure and support appropriate corrective actions. 9. Provide technical training and coaching to mechanical technicians and Qatari National Developees on rotating equipment to support capability development and knowledge transfer.
- Coordinate the repair and refurbishment of critical rotating equipment components with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely restoration of equipment availability and reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 4 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry or petrochemical industry, including experience in rotating equipment maintenance, major overhauls, and troubleshooting, as well as projects, pre commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Good knowledge of gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, pumps and associated auxiliary systems.
- Knowledge of applicable Company, national and international engineering standards, and specifications.
- Knowledge of SAP
- Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills).
- Computer literate, and competent with a variety of engineering software tools.
