We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to provide safety and health leadership for construction and upstream oil & gas projects. This individual will support site leadership and EPC contractor teams, ensuring compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and best practices while driving a strong safety culture across the project.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in construction and upstream oil & gas environments, strong technical safety expertise, and the ability to work independently in demanding field conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety standards, procedures, and documented practices.
  • Review new project designs and facility modifications to ensure compliance with company and industry safety requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate contractor safety performance and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Provide technical safety guidance to site leadership and project teams.

Incident & Emergency Response

  • Respond to emergencies and incident investigations, providing technical support and recommendations.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project SSHE performance.

Training & Safety Culture

  • Assist in the development and promotion of safety awareness programs both on and off the job.
  • Prepare safety communications, presentations, training materials, and educational content.
  • Mentor junior safety professionals and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a strong safety culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in construction safety roles within the upstream oil & gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety processes, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful project safety performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
  • Strong computer proficiency, including:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel and remain on-site for extended periods as required.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding construction environments and varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working in multicultural and multilingual project environments.
  • Experience supporting large EPC construction projects.

Additional Information

  • Agency-provided truck.
  • Per diem
  • Must be fit for duty and capable of safely performing field-based activities within active construction and oil & gas sites.
