Position Overview

This Senior Category Manager opportunity offers the chance to lead procurement delivery in a complex, business-critical environment: IT Software and Services. The Senior Category Manager will play a key role in supporting business priorities through commercial leadership, stakeholder engagement and programme coordination. This Senior Category Manager position is suited to a commercially strong professional with deep experience across software and services categories. 

Role Context

This role sits within a procurement environment supporting business priorities through hub or site-based operations. The position involves working in a hybrid setting, with 3 days in the Surrey office, and leading activity across a large team while engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a large team to deliver procurement, programme and stakeholder management support aligned to business priorities.
  • Coordinate the development of demand forecasts to support procurement operations.
  • Enable value delivery across category activity while supporting compliance with agreed service expectations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations across software and services categories.
  • Build and manage effective relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-suite level contacts.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential: 

  • Degree qualification.
  • Extensive experience as a commercial negotiator.
  • Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions within IT software and services categories.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite stakeholders.

Desirable: 

  • Experience of SAP S4/HANA.
