Senior Civil Designer (infrastructural)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting the delivery of a major infrastructure project in Western Australia.

This position will play a key role in the development of civil engineering designs and construction documentation, with a focus on roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities, and associated infrastructure. Working closely with engineering and project stakeholders, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality design solutions from concept through to detailed design.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop civil engineering designs and 3D models for large-scale infrastructure projects.

• Prepare detailed design documentation, including:

  • General Arrangement Drawings
  • Plan and Profile Drawings
  • Drainage Drawings
  • Pavement Designs
  • Utilities Layouts
  • Swept Path Analysis
• Establish and maintain project drawing registers, ensuring accurate document control, revisions, and issue management.
• Collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders to develop integrated and coordinated design solutions.
• Manage and incorporate geospatial datasets into civil design models and project deliverables.
• Develop mapping products and spatial data outputs to support project planning and approvals.
• Process and utilise survey information, including LiDAR and topographic survey data.
• Deliver assigned work packages in accordance with project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and design reviews, presenting solutions and recommendations as required.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant Australian and international standards.
• Promote a strong commitment to safety, quality, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years' experience in a Senior Civil Designer position.
• Demonstrated experience delivering civil design packages and construction documentation for major infrastructure projects.

• Strong experience in the design and detailing of:

  • Roads and Transport Infrastructure
  • Earthworks
  • Drainage Systems
  • Utilities and Non-Process Infrastructure
• Advanced proficiency in 12d Model and Bentley MicroStation.
• Experience managing and working with geospatial and survey data.
• Exposure to GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Pro and Global Mapper will be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with BIM and 3D design environments, including model attribute management and customisation.
• Experience developing customisations or macros within 12d Model is advantageous.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related qualification is preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced project environment while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
