Senior Commissioning Engineer – Telecommunications
The Senior Commissioning Engineer – Telecommunications role involves leading and managing all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for telecom systems in oil and gas projects, particularly offshore environments. The engineer acts as a key interface between contractors and asset owners, ensuring that all systems are installed, tested, and handed over in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. The position requires active participation across the full project lifecycle—from engineering and construction through to final handover—ensuring quality, safety, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
The role demands extensive experience in telecommunications systems such as CCTV, radio systems, structured cabling, telephony, and network management systems, along with strong knowledge of commissioning processes, FAT/SAT testing, and engineering standards. The candidate should possess robust expertise in FEED and EPIC project execution, with the ability to review and approve contractor deliverables, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure compliance with HSE regulations and industry best practices.
In addition to technical responsibilities, the engineer is expected to provide leadership and coordination across multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, vendors, and operations personnel. Background in Instrumentation and Control would also be advantageous. The role involves planning and executing commissioning strategies, managing risks, ensuring operational readiness, and supporting smooth transition to operations.
