An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join a multi-discipline Engineering Team supporting detailed engineering design, construction, commissioning, and startup activities within an industrial plant environment.
Role Context
This Senior Control Systems Engineer position sits within a large industrial facility setting with exposure to control and safety systems, instrumentation, and project execution activities across engineering and site phases.
About the Role
The Senior Control Systems Engineer will provide engineering support across the full project lifecycle, contributing to the development, review, and execution of control systems scope for major industrial projects. The Senior Control Systems Engineer will support technical quality, system integrity, and coordination across project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in progressing engineering design and monitor subcontractors for adherence to controls and instrumentation industry and LNG codes and standards.
Participate in Hazard and Risk Assessments.
Review system design, including concept sketches, diagrams and layouts.
Review of EPC contractor design and construction deliverables.
At site observe, monitor and report on major control systems work activities.
Support site walkdowns.
Support factory and site acceptance tests.
Monitor and review system design development, commissioning and start up against design guarantees and warranties and functional requirements.
Maintain clear communication with contractors and operations for brown field work activities and SIMOPS.
Review specifications, system architecture diagrams, panel drawings, wiring diagrams and other systems deliverables.
Support for agency compliance efforts (FERC, PHMSA).
Required Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Process, Mechanical or other relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university.
Minimum of six (6) years in Controls Systems design, preferably with EPC experience.
Working knowledge of Oil and Gas industry codes and standards.
Experience with Yokogawa (preferred), Delta V or Honeywell systems.
Strong administrative abilities are required.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Mandatory Certifications
A Professional Engineer (PE) License in good standing is preferred.
Must possess or be able to attain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
