Ensure the Engineering Dossier is delivered with a robust Electrical engineering definition and a fit-for-purpose design that can be procured, fabricated, transported, installed, commissioned, and operated safely, meeting the requirements of project standards and Basis of Design.
Ensure, control, and coordinate the proper realization of the Electrical design in compliance with project specifications, procedures, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
Plan, prepare, and lead Electrical discipline meetings with EPSCC Contractor, vendors, package suppliers, and 3rd?party reviewers, in close coordination with Discipline Lead.
Identify, manage, and track Electrical engineering technical decisions, including those subject to 3rd?party approval or review; define clear action plans and secure timely agreement within the Engineering phase schedule
Monitor discipline progress closely, define corrective actions, and manage them to ensure timely completion of the design.
Work closely with Discipline Lead to coordinate and manage Electrical engineering interfaces with other disciplines and stakeholders.
Define, detail, and monitor Electrical interface parameters with other EPSCC disciplines.
Assist Discipline Lead in the preparation of the Discipline Engineering Execution Plan to establish agreed baselines for the Electrical discipline.
Perform thorough, efficient, and timely review of Electrical discipline documents, identifying potential derogations from standards and challenging the design to achieve optimized and fit-for-purpose solutions.
Ensure all Electrical-related project documents are reviewed and commented on in a timely manner and in accordance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Identify opportunities for optimization and improvement to be implemented at an early stage of detailed design; promote and encourage value engineering proposals.
Promote fit-for-purpose design solutions to optimize planning, cost, and schedule.
Ensure, as far as possible, standardization of Electrical design solutions
Ensure timely and clear responses to contractors’ and vendors’ requests for engineering design clarifications and technical queries.
Liaise with discipline engineers to identify and review potential deviations or derogations to project standards, ensuring deviation packages are mature submission and approval.
Consult the Electrical department on Electrical discipline derogation requests and interface with relevant review panels to secure the necessary approvals.
Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on all engineering, constructability, and operational matters.
Ensure that relevant feedback and lessons learned from previous similar projects are considered in the design development.
Define, follow up, and evaluate Electrical discipline studies to be carried out by Contractors, ensuring completion in accordance with approved project gates and design maturity.
Assist in the preparation for and participation in project studies and reviews, including model reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, CHAZOP, constructability reviews, PRs, and other studies as required by Discipline Lead.
Provide technical clarifications and responses during internal project audit sessions and safety studies.
Participate in weekly, monthly, and ad?hoc engineering meetings with Contractors, vendors, and 3rd?party reviewers, as required.
Assist in the preparation of engineering progress reports, detailing Electrical discipline status, schedule, risks, and technical issues to ensure timely and accurate reporting to the discipline management team.
Identify potential risks and scope changes related to the Electrical discipline, perform impact assessments, and provide detailed information to Discipline Engineering Coordinators and Leads to support decision-making.
Identify, review, and assess Electrical-related engineering scope changes and ensure alignment with the approved Basis of Design and project standards, managing any changes in accordance with the project change management plan.
Assist Discipline Lead in the assessment of project change orders.
Support Discipline Lead in project risk management activities.
