Senior Electrical Estimator

Location: Applecross, WA
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Hours: 7.6 hours per day, Monday to Friday

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join a leading construction and engineering company based in Applecross. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) and/or SMP projects across the mining, resources, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.

Working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in securing new projects and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) and/or SMP projects.
  • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and client scopes of work.
  • Complete quantity take-offs and develop labour, material, plant, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Source, obtain, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Develop project methodologies, tender clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities throughout the tender process.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders during bid preparation.
  • Support project handovers to delivery teams following successful tender awards.
  • Maintain estimating databases and contribute to ongoing process improvements and best practices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience estimating E&I and/or SMP projects within mining, resources, industrial, or infrastructure environments.
  • A relevant trade qualification, engineering degree, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian standards, construction practices, and industrial project methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Solid understanding of labour productivity, material pricing, subcontractor management, and project costing.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
