Job Title:
Senior Flow Assurance Engineer
This opportunity sits within an offshore oil and gas engineering environment, supporting detailed design and execution across complex flow assurance activities. The role focuses on flow assurance simulations, hydraulic and thermal analysis, and subsea field development studies using tools such as PVTSim, PIPESIM and OLGA. This position offers the chance to contribute to technically demanding engineering work with broad involvement across multidisciplinary project delivery.
Required Education:
Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering
Required Experience:
10+ years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant, predominantly performing detail design of offshore facilities
Strong background in flow assurance engineering within offshore project execution and detailed design environments
Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering, planning, fabrication, marine and project management teams
Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, design basis documents and engineering deliverables
Experience supporting procurement activities, vendor document review, technical bid evaluation and design verification
Knowledge of project coordination and execution within complex engineering programmes
Required Skills:
Advanced knowledge of flow assurance principles, tools and solutions
Ability to use PVTSim, PIPESIM and OLGA to perform flow assurance simulations, troubleshooting and technical analysis
Capability to perform reservoir fluid characterisation analyses and steady state and transient thermal and hydraulic analyses
Experience with transient liquid line surge analysis, liquid system surge analysis, and gas line packing, unpacking and depressurisation studies
Detailed knowledge of design techniques, analysis methods, and the application of relevant offshore standards, codes and guidelines
Ability to prepare, review and approve engineering design basis, philosophies, technical specifications, reports and procedures
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
Ability to guide less experienced engineers and support technical development within the discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree preferred, such as MSc or PhD
Registered Professional Engineer or membership of a professional engineering society is preferred
Graduate-level engineering coursework or attendance at advanced technical seminars would be advantageous
