The Company

A global operator of energy and resources. As a result of an increased portfolio, they are now looking for a Senior Identity and Access Management Engineer to support these projects across the business.

The Role

As the Senior Identity and Access Management Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing additional capacity within its IAM function. IAM is a core IT capability covering identity services, access management tooling and certificate issuance for secure websites.

This role will provide senior engineering and strategic capability to strengthen Woodside’s enterprise IAM function, translating business and cyber security outcomes into secure, scalable identity architecture, standards, roadmaps and delivery.

Working within the Cyber Security function, the successful candidate will focus on resolving technical problems, delivering identity projects and improving the function’s capability. The role requires someone who can work independently, manage a high volume of work and take ownership of priorities through to completion.

This opportunity suits an experienced engineer who combines strong technical problem-solving with sound judgement and the interpersonal skills to engage effectively with the business.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver IAM engineering projects and resolve complex identity and access management problems.
  • Manage competing priorities independently, balancing project delivery with technical issue resolution.
  • Engineer and improve access management, identity governance, authentication and privileged access solutions.
  • Support PKI and certificate lifecycle services, including certificate issuance for secure websites.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, explain technical options and recommend practical solutions.
  • Improve reliability and reduce manual effort through automation, standardisation and clear engineering practices.
  • Document solutions and share knowledge to broaden team capability and support effective operational handover.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • A senior candidate with at least eight years of hands-on IAM, security engineering or identity architecture experience in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience delivering comparable work in an organisation of similar scale and complexity.
  • The ability to self-manage, prioritise a substantial workload and progress projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with evidence of resolving complex problems and delivering lasting improvements.
  • Business engagement and communication skills, including the ability to exercise good judgement and build productive working relationships.
  • Deep Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory experience, including hybrid identity, Conditional Access, authentication and federation.
  • Strong Identity Governance and Administration experience, preferably Saviynt, plus practical Privileged Access Management experience and working knowledge of PKI and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Automation capability using PowerShell and REST APIs, with a strong understanding of identity protocols and secure integration patterns.
  • Perth based with full working Australian rights.

What’s on Offer

  • Exposure to a Global company
  • Flexible working arrangement
