SNR MARINE / PACKAGE CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER (MACHINERY)
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage the deployment of assigned machinery resources within designated projects, including the coordination of equipment, manpower, and facilities, as well as overseeing work execution, progress tracking, and project close-out activities.
- Ensure adequate resource availability throughout project execution in line with approved plans and schedules.
- Develop detailed work schedules and monitor progress against planned milestones and performance targets.
- Review and oversee Daily Progress Reports (DPR) prepared by Technical Executives to ensure assigned activities are completed within the agreed timeframe.
- Liaise with relevant departments to establish and implement recovery plans for delayed activities, ensuring all stakeholders adhere to agreed corrective actions and target completion dates.
- Ensure project documentation and reporting requirements are completed, submitted, and maintained in a timely manner in both physical and electronic systems to support traceability, record management, and accurate cost allocation.
- Coordinate and facilitate project execution activities among internal departments, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely work delivery, effective VO/AWO management, compliance with project schedules and budgets, and alignment with technical, quality, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate logistics, warehousing, and material handling activities to ensure efficient delivery, storage, transfer, and distribution of materials according to project needs and timelines.
- Implement and comply with all applicable HSE Management System (HSE MS) requirements and procedures relevant to the Senior Engineer position, including Permit to Work (PTW) approvals, preparation and issuance of Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and ensuring safe work execution.
- Monitor, enforce, and maintain compliance with project HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Company HSE Management System requirements across assigned projects and workshop activities, ensuring adherence to established safety procedures and standards.
- Monitor the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) within assigned projects to ensure work is completed in accordance with ISO requirements (IMS-Specific Procedure Level III) and recognized industry practices.
- Track and optimize workforce productivity and resource utilization throughout project execution while maintaining alignment with approved project and production budgets.
- Lead, coordinate, and successfully close out mechanical completion activities to ensure operational readiness and system readiness for sail-away or vessel redelivery.
- Manage and supervise post-delivery activities, including surplus material handling, scrap and waste disposal, temporary storage arrangements, site restoration, housekeeping activities, and final handover to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify machinery-related work scopes based on project summary lists and coordinate subcontractor engagement requirements in consultation with the Production Manager and Project Manager.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and work execution to ensure compliance with approved project schedules and deliverables.
- Verify and close completed subcontractor work in the work management system to support Work Completion Report (WCR) submission requirements.
- Assess the performance of local and specialist subcontractors in collaboration with the Sub-Contracting (SCM) team, ensuring compliance with MMHE requirements relating to quality, safety, schedule performance, and cost efficiency.
- Prepare and finalize work completion documentation and ensure proper closure of assigned project scopes.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 7 years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry as a Discipline Engineer, or at least 7 years of sailing experience onboard tanker vessels.
- At least 1 year of experience leading ship repair, ship conversion, or shipbuilding projects.
- Exposure to floater-type vessel design activities, including Conceptual Studies, FEED, and Detailed Design Engineering (DDE), is an added advantage.
