Bulk Materials Handling & Mineral Processing

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering complex mining and resource projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and execution of bulk materials handling systems, mineral processing facilities, and critical mine infrastructure across a range of major projects.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will play a key role throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support mechanical engineering design activities for mining and resource development projects.
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise for mineral processing plant projects, including crushing, screening, grinding, flotation, beneficiation, dewatering, and materials handling interfaces.
  • Contribute to concept studies, feasibility studies, detailed design, and project execution phases.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and design deliverables.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to designers and drafters.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering initiatives.

What you'll need to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proven experience on resource development projects and underground mining.
  • Strong expertise in the engineering and design of bulk materials handling equipment and systems.
  • Experience working on mineral processing plant projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
