Contract Term: 12 Months (with potential for extension)

Airswift is recruiting for a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support a major offshore drilling program on Canada's East Coast.

Role Overview

As a Senior Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting cost control, forecasting, project reporting, and change management activities across a complex offshore drilling and development program.

Working within an integrated project team, you will collaborate with engineering, drilling, procurement, finance, operations, and leadership stakeholders to support the successful delivery of project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Control & Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain project cost forecasts.
  • Monitor commitments, accruals, actual costs, and expenditures.
  • Track project performance against approved budgets and control estimates.
  • Perform variance analysis and cost trend reviews.
  • Support contingency management and cost risk assessments.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial and performance reports.

Change Management

  • Administer project change management processes.
  • Maintain project change logs and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate Project Change Notices (PCNs).
  • Evaluate cost and schedule impacts resulting from project changes.
  • Ensure approved changes are captured within project forecasts and reporting.

Project Controls Support

  • Support project planning, execution, and performance monitoring activities.
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and emerging issues.
  • Provide reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams and contractors.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Project Controls.

Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reporting packages.
  • Support compliance with project controls procedures and governance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Participate in project reviews and closeout activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of Project Controls experience.
  • Strong Cost Control and Cost Forecasting experience.
  • Experience supporting major capital projects.
  • Proven Change Management experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • SAP experience or equivalent ERP system experience.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting offshore drilling programs.
  • Experience working with offshore oil platforms and offshore support vessels.
  • Previous experience within oil & gas, energy, LNG, marine, or offshore environments.
  • Power BI experience.
  • Planning and Scheduling experience.
  • Experience working within Owner or EPC project environments.
