    We’re seeking a highly capable Senior Software Engineer to join Woodside on a 12?month casual contract, working as a key technical leader within an agile delivery team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives across the full software development lifecycle and enjoys solving complex, ambiguous problems while setting high engineering standards.

    What You’ll Do

  • Lead end?to?end delivery: estimating, designing, building, testing, deploying, and improving software solutions
  • Break down large initiatives into clear, actionable work
  • Drive technical decision?making and contribute to architectural direction
  • Ensure code quality across maintainability, security, performance, and scalability
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborative engineering practices
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through pairing, coaching, and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to engineering workshops and community uplift
  • Deep full?stack engineering capability
  • Strong backend experience: TypeScript, Python, Ruby, Java, or .NET
  • Experience with microservices and cloud?native architectures
  • Advanced proficiency with AWS services: API Gateway, AppSync, Lambda, S3, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, Aurora
  • Experience with IaC tools: CloudFormation, CDK, Serverless, SAM
  • Strong data modelling across SQL & NoSQL (DynamoDB, Aurora, PostgreSQL, RDS)
  • High proficiency in API design and Git workflows
  • Experience in architecture reviews, security practices, performance optimisation, and operational support
  • Understanding of platform engineering, authentication (OAuth, Zero Trust), and general application security
