Position Overview

This opportunity is for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a site-based team supporting brownfield oil and gas engineering work. The Senior Structural Engineer will play a key role in delivering technically sound structural engineering solutions while supporting safe, efficient and compliant project execution. This Senior Structural Engineer position offers the chance to contribute to a complex operating environment where quality, collaboration and delivery performance are essential. The Senior Structural Engineer will suit candidates with strong technical capability and established experience in brownfield oil and gas projects.

Role Context

This role sits within the energy sector, supporting brownfield oil and gas activity on a site-based project environment. The position involves working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to meet project delivery requirements and maintain strong communication across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the required technical quality of structural engineering work.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant procedures and regulations.
  • Support delivery of assigned work in line with agreed budgets and schedules where practicable.
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the change control process.
  • Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
  • Work closely with other disciplines and drafting teams to achieve delivery milestones.
  • Maintain effective communication with the client and attend site visits when required.
  • Promote health, safety, environmental, quality and ethical standards across project activities.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and lateral learning within the project team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Essential: Significant brownfield oil and gas experience.
  • Essential: Strong technical engineering background and expertise.
  • Essential: Working knowledge of PDMS.
  • Essential: Competence in analytical methods used within the discipline, including understanding of the theoretical basis for analysis programs.
  • Essential: Ability to plan, monitor progress, forecast and report effectively.
  • Essential: Awareness of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering.
  • Essential: Ability to estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
  • Essential: Ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines and drafting sections to meet delivery dates.
