About the Role

This is a Perth-based, Monday-Friday, 12-months contract position for an oil and gas operator. Reporting to the Subsea Production Control System Team Lead, this role supports the delivery of subsea production control systems throughout the design and execution phases of a major offshore project. Key responsibilities include supporting engineering, procurement, testing, commissioning, and handover activities, while ensuring safety, quality, technical integrity, and project delivery requirements are met. The role also works closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and operations personnel to ensure effective integration of subsea systems and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Subsea Production Control System (SPCS) engineering scope across design and execution phases, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Prepare and review key engineering deliverables, including system specifications, interfaces, and testing documentation.
  • Support procurement activities, supplier evaluations, and resolution of technical queries.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams to manage interfaces and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical assurance, and risk management activities to support project delivery.
  • Support system testing, commissioning, start-up, and handover activities, including FAT, EFAT, and integration testing.
  • Contribute to technology assessments, continuous improvement initiatives, and incorporation of lessons learned.

Skills/Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Control Systems, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Subsea Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in subsea production control systems engineering.
  • Proven track record delivering integrated subsea systems across project life cycles (FEED to commissioning).
  • Strong understanding of API 17F, IEC standards, and offshore integration best practices.
  • Experience managing interfaces between vendors, topsides contractors, and operations.
  • Familiarity with all-electric subsea production systems, long-distance subsea electrical power transmission, offshore CCS developments and experience working with major subsea controls Suppliers are considered an advantage.
