Senior Superstructure Construction Engineer (Living Quarters)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee assigned projects, ensuring all deliverables are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams, including internal resources and subcontractors, to ensure efficient execution of construction, conversion, repair, or fabrication activities.
- Administer subcontractor and vendor work scopes, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and schedule commitments while minimizing project risks.
- Plan and monitor procurement activities to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and services within approved budgets.
- Coordinate the utilization of facilities, yard resources, and support services necessary for successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, identify potential delays, and implement recovery plans to achieve project milestones.
- Manage project costs and expenditure controls, ensuring assigned work scopes are delivered within approved financial targets.
- Support change management activities, including technical reviews, cost assessments, and risk evaluations associated with project variations.
- Contribute technical expertise during tendering and pre-qualification stages, including manpower estimation, planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Develop, review, and approve construction methodologies, work procedures, and execution plans prior to commencement of work.
- Facilitate daily coordination meetings and interface management activities to ensure smooth execution of simultaneous operations among multiple disciplines.
- Prepare project completion documentation, progress reports, and supporting records required for client acceptance and invoicing purposes.
- Review inspection and quality documentation before submission to clients and classification societies, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Ensure timely compilation and handover of project close-out and final documentation through coordination with relevant departments.
- Promote and enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements across all project activities, fostering a strong safety culture with the objective of achieving incident-free operations.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience within the oil and gas, offshore, marine, shipbuilding, or related industries in an engineering or technical role.
- Alternatively, at least 7 years of operational experience onboard tanker vessels may be considered.
- Proven experience leading or coordinating ship repair, vessel conversion, offshore modification, or newbuild projects.
- Exposure to floater-related projects such as FPSO, FSO, FLNG, or similar offshore facilities is advantageous.
- Familiarity with offshore facility design stages, including Concept Selection, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design), and Detailed Engineering Design, is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline; or
- Class 1 or Class 2 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency (Foreign Going Unlimited).
- Professional certifications related to project management, construction, or offshore engineering would be an added advantage.
