Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to support the development of advanced electrified powertrain and high-voltage inverter systems within the automotive sector.
This role will act as a technical focal point for system development activities, leading customer discussions, developing system concepts, and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams. Working across hardware, software, calibration, safety, and test functions, you will ensure robust system-level solutions are delivered throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Own the development and delivery of assigned system functions for HV inverters and electrified powertrain systems throughout the product lifecycle
Develop system concepts and requirements while balancing quality, performance, cost, timing, and customer expectations
Lead technical discussions with customers and internal engineering teams
Coordinate activities across hardware, software, calibration, safety, and testing disciplines
Perform root cause analysis and implement effective system-level solutions to technical issues and defects
Support Functional Safety activities, including Technical Safety Concepts, SFMEA, and FTA in accordance with ISO 26262
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering teams
Report technical status, risks, and mitigation plans to engineering and project management stakeholders
Support customer meetings, testing activities, and technical reviews
Contribute to continuous improvement and technical excellence across projects
Requirements
Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
Minimum 10 years' experience in automotive system development within HV Inverters, Power Electronics, or Electrified Powertrain Systems
Strong expertise in HV inverter functions, motor control strategies, and electric propulsion systems
Solid Systems Engineering background covering requirements development, system architecture, integration, verification, and validation
Experience leading complex technical topics and cross-functional engineering teams
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety and High Voltage Safety requirements
Experience working directly with automotive customers and managing technical stakeholder discussions
Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills are advantageous
Experience with Polarion, JIRA, Enterprise Architect, and MATLAB/Simulink is beneficial
Strong customer focus, accountability, and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions
Ability to operate effectively within a global automotive development environment
